Grp A: Yorkshire into quarters

Yorkshire thrashed Derbyshire by 10 wickets to reach the quarter-finals of the Royal London One Day Cup at Scarborough’s North Marine Road.

The White Rose county romped to their fifth win in seven matches - chasing down 152 inside 25 overs - to consolidate their position at the top of Group A.

Medium-pacer Richard Pyrah (3-25) and leg-spinner Adil Rashid (3-45) shared six wickets for Yorkshire, who skittled Derbyshire for 151 after asking the visitors to bat first.

Tim Bresnan started the procession with the wicket of Wes Durston with his first ball of the match and then picked up Australian Marcus North to leave the Falcons in early trouble on 4-2.

Billy Godleman (36) and Alex Hughes (43) led a mini fightback, but Rashid returned to rip through the lower order.

Opening duo Adam Lyth (67 not out), playing at his home ground, and Alex Lees (69no) then made a mockery of the run-chase, powering Yorkshire into the last eight with one game to spare.
