Acclaimed hurdler Grumeti will attempt to strike while the iron is hot in Saturday's 32Red.com Handicap at Goodwood.
Although capable on the Flat for Michael Bell, Grumeti has come into his own jumping and was announced as the top-rated two-mile novice hurdler in the Anglo-Irish Jump Classifications on Tuesday.
He was third to Countrywide Flame in the Triumph Hurdle before reversing the placings at Aintree.
Grumeti returned to the Flat at Ascot on May 12 and produced another excellent effort to comfortably take a mile-and-a-half handicap.
King said: "He won well at Ascot and, while this seems a stronger race, he seems in good form at the moment.
"I don't think that he is rated highly enough to get a run in the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap at Royal Ascot.
"He went up to a mark of 89 for winning at Ascot but the cut-off for the Duke if Edinburgh Handicap last year was 91, so I thought that I would try and get the figure up again.
"He has been a grand horse for us and it was great to be rated the top novice two-mile hurdler for the season.
"He's been on the go for a while but he seems to be in good form."
Grumeti takes on eight rivals in the 32Red.com Handicap, including the hat-trick-seeking Ithoughtitwasover from Mark Johnston's yard.
