Guitar Pete hits the high note

Guitar Pete ran out an easy winner of the Grade Two Knight Frank Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown after favourite Analifet was pulled up.

The 9/2 second-favourite cruised up alongside eventual runner-up Clarcam (14/1) before the final flight and was nudged out for a comfortable success under Bryan Cooper.

His task was made easier when 3/10 favourite Analifet was pulled up after just three flights.

The well-fancied mare had pulled hard in the early stages and had established a lead when Davy Russell pulled her up.

Winning trainer Dessie Hughes said: "He is a smashing little horse. I brought him over to Cheltenham and he ran a cracker there on his last start.

"He has a good, tough pedigree and he will go back to Cheltenham now, for either the Triumph or the Fred Winter, but he will probably have another run before then."
