Gulbis eases into final

Ernests Gulbis dropped just one point on his first serve as he ended the title defence of Albert Montanes at the Open de Nice Cote d'Azur.

Second seed Gulbis took just 70 minutes to sweep past the Spaniard 6-0 6-3 and book his place in his sixth career final.

Gulbis told "I felt really confident from the first rally on. I had good timing. The first set was one of the best sets I have played."

In the final Gulbis will face Argentina's Federico Delbonis who pulled off an upset win over fourth seed Gilles Simon.

World number 45 Delbonis broke his opponent twice in each set to wrap up an impressive 6-2 6-4 victory, also in 70 minutes.
