Gustavo happy at Wolfsburg

Luiz Gustavo has insisted that he has no intention of leaving Wolfsburg this summer and is determined to help the club challenge for trophies.

The Brazilian midfielder has been linked with a move and reportedly has a release clause in his contract worth around 27.5million.

A number of Premier League teams have previously been credited with an interest in Gustavo, with Arsenal believed to be keen to sign him 12 months ago before he joined Wolfsburg from Bayern Munich.

However, Gustavo, who has a contract until 2018, says he is still as committed to Wolfsburg as ever and is looking forward to a successful season.

He told Wolfsburger Nachricjten: "I am back in training and I want to play on for Wolfsburg to help the team succeed.

\"We are to be involved in three club competitions this season and we want to be among the best in all of them."

Wolfsburg finished fifth in the Bundesliga last season to qualify for the Europa League, and general manager Klaus Allofs says Gustavo remains a vital part of the club's future plans.

He told kicker-Sportmagazin: "Luiz Gustavo leaving? This has been a theoretical chance this summer, but now this chapter is closed.\"
