Halep marches on in Doha
Simona Halep put Agnieszka Radwanska out of the Qatar Total Open in Doha with a straight-sets victory in the semi-finals.
But Halep had trailed 5-2 to her Polish opponent in the first set before winning eight games in a row to take control of the match.
That run meant Halep took the first set 7-5 before going 3-0 up in the second. Radwanska stopped the rot but Halep soon regained control to win the second set 6-2.
Halep, ranked 10th in the world, recorded the best win of her career against a player ranked at number four and will face sixth seed Angelique Kerber in the final.
The German defeated fifth-seeded Serbian Jelena Jankovic 6-1 7-6 (8/6).
In their only previous meeting, an ITF Women's Circuit event in 2009, Halep won 7-5 in the third set.
At the time Kerber was ranked 95 in the world and Halep 228, and they are now nine and 10 respectively.
