Hamilton backs Moscow plan
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has backed the idea of bringing a Formula One race to the streets of Moscow.
Russia will host its inaugural Grand Prix at the coastal resort of Sochi in 2014 but a race in the capital, with the iconic Kremlin as its backdrop, has long been mooted.
And, after starring at a motorsport show in Moscow last weekend, Hamilton gave such plans his enthusiastic endorsement.
'I've seen some images of Moscow at night and it looks absolutely spectacular," said the Brit. "So I think having a night race here one day, as we do in Singapore, would be one of the highlights of our season."
Hamilton appears to have been hugely impressed by the historic Russian city and later tweeted: "Probably the most stunning building I've ever seen, St Basil's in Moscow."
