Hamilton hopes for Kubica return
Lewis Hamilton would love to see Robert Kubica make a full-time return to Formula One.
Last month Kubica, who was involved in a near-fatal rally crash just over two years ago, revealed to enjoying a run out in Mercedes' F1 simulator, with the potential for more in the future.
Despite severe injuries to his right arm and hand, the 28-year-old Pole is steadily working his way back to the top of motor sport as this year he is competing in a number of rounds of the World and European Rally Championships.
Niki Lauda, Mercedes' non-executive chairman, has confirmed Kubica "brings a lot of experience" to the team's simulator programme.
The three-times world champion added: "Due to the limited testing, the simulators are becoming very important."
Aware Kubica has recently visited Mercedes' Brackley headquarters for simulator work, Hamilton said "It's fantastic.
"I grew up racing with Robert, and he is absolutely one of the best drivers around. I hope at some stage he will make it back."
