Hammers closing in on Diame

West Ham are reportedly holding a second round of talks to sign former Wigan midfielder Mohamed Diame on a free transfer.

The 24-year-old, for whom Latics paid Rayo Vallecano 3.8million euros in 2009, is out of contract after his deal at the DW Stadium expired at the end of the season.

And with Sam Allardyce keen to bolster his squad having secured promotion to the Premier League, Upton Park now seems certain to be Diame's destination.

The Senegal international managed 89 appearances during his three years at Wigan and netted seven goals.
