
Daniela Hantuchova moved into the second round of the Luxembourg Open with a hard-fought 3-6 6-4 6-1 win over Holland's Arantxa Rus.
The 29-year-old Slovakian, now ranked 38, fought back strongly after a poor start, breaking Rus five times in the final two sets to wrap up victory in one hour and 50 minutes.
Germany's Andrea Petkovic also had to come from behind to defeat Spanish qualifier Garbine Muguruza 4-6 6-2 6-1, while Ksenia Pervak of Kazakhstan beat Russian qualifier Vera Dushevina 6-3 7-6 (7-2).
British lucky loser Anne Keothavong made the most of her second chance by moving into the next round with an emphatic 6-2 6-2 win over Holland's Kiki Bertens in exactly one hour.
In second round action, Spain's Lourdes Dominguez Lino beat Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia 6-2 6-3, and Czech Lucie Hradecka beat Germany's Annika Beck 6-1 6-1.
