Hargreaves wants flying start

Torquay boss Chris Hargreaves says his side must hit the ground running in the Conference next season.

The former Gulls captain, who led them to promotion from the fifth tier in 2009, has a clear vision of his new-look squad and says he is already planning for August's kick-off.

"I am speaking to lots of players, lots of managers and lots of agents," he told the club's official website. 'This is an exciting time for the club, and for me as the manager.

"It's time for rebuilding and whenever you start something new and have a vision for the future, it should be exciting.

"I obviously want a side that will hit the ground running from the first game of the new season. It's not going to be easy but I've been pleasantly surprised by the number of people I've already spoken to, and that's just in the first week of the close-season."
