Harris set for Salford talks

Wigan assistant Iestyn Harris has been given permission to speak to Salford about joining Brian Noble's coaching staff, according to reports.

Red Devils owner and chairman Marwan Koukash revealed on Monday that he is looking to strengthen the club's backroom team following a disappointing start to the Super League season.

Former Wales head coach Harris, 37, and Australian Shane Flanagan, 48, were confirmed as two potential additions.

Harris played under Noble for both Bradford and Great Britain and worked alongside him at Crusaders in 2010 before succeeding him as head coach.

He is now assisting Shaun Wane at Wigan, but will reportedly be out of contract at the end of the year.

Salford, who have lost four of their seven matches Super League so far and sit down in ninth place in the table, have now made an official approach to the Warriors and have been given permission to speak to Harris.
