Hawk has eyes on Lingfield prize

Jim Goldie is keeping his fingers crossed Hawkeyethenoo gets the luck of the draw at Lingfield on Good Friday.

The popular veteran lines up in the All-Weather Sprint Championships Conditions Stakes.

The high-class sprinter is winless after seven starts on the all-weather, but has run some good races in defeat this winter.

He was a slightly disappointing seventh at Lingfield in the Cleves Stakes in February, but his Scottish trainer is hopeful he can bounce back later this week.

Goldie said: "This has been the plan for Hawkeyethenoo for a long time now.

"I have been very happy with him since his last run and a good draw would be handy now, but you can't guarantee me that so we will just have to take it as it comes.

"We have freshened him up since and we are looking forward to it."
