Haydock confirm course changes
Haydock's opening fixture of the jumps season has been transferred to Carlisle while the Betfair Chase will be run over an extra furlong.
A delay in the establishment of a good grass sward following drainage work on the hurdles track has meant the course is not quite ready to race.
The prize-money at Carlisle will be unchanged and length of the races will be based on the nearest corresponding distance.
For both days of the Betfair Chase meeting on November 22 and 23, all chases will be run over the footprint of the inner Flat course and hurdles races on the chase course.
This means the distances of chases contested over two and a half miles or longer will be increased by a furlong while chases over two miles and half a furlong become two miles and one furlong.
Clerk of the Course Kirkland Tellwright said: "Transferring the first scheduled jump fixture of the autumn to Carlisle is a sensible precaution which gives the sward in the drained areas a better chance to establish."
