Hedwall four shots clear
Caroline Hedwall will take a four-shot lead into the final round of the Helsingborg Open after posting a 67 at Vasatorp's Tournament Course.
The 24-year-old Swede gave the home fans something to cheer about with a storming front nine, reaching the turn in 31, which did the bulk of the damage as she shot up the leaderboard.
While Hedwall went round in level par on the back nine - with a solitary bogey at the 393-yard par-four 13th followed by a birdie at the 15th - it was enough to move her to 10 under overall and a comfortable cushion heading into Sunday's final round after overnight leader Valentine Derrey and Lee-Anne Pace finished with disappointing round of 74 and 73 respectively.
"I think I just got into the flow. I hit it really close on four, five and six and it helps when you don't have to concentrate on the putts," said Hedwall, whose family home is 15 minutes from the venue, to the Ladies European Tour website.
"I've been hitting the ball really solid the last two months and I'm very happy with it and this week I've been able to hole a couple of putts. It's probably the best I've ever played.
"I'm very happy with five-under today and it's a really good score in these conditions. I really enjoyed it. It makes it so much more fun playing in front of a big crowd and I'm excited for tomorrow."
