Heerenveen to meet Groningen
Heerenveen and FC Groningen will square up for a place in next season's Europa League after coming through their respective play-off semi-finals on Saturday.
Heerenveen turned a 2-1 first-leg lead over AZ into a 3-1 overall score, winning 1-0 on the night, while Groningen thumped Vitesse 4-1 for a 5-1 aggregate victory.
Leading 1-0 after the opening leg, Groningen opened the scoring through Tjaronn Chery in the 25th minute. Vitesse responded through Davy Propper but the visitors turned on the style after that.
Richairo Zivkovic made it 2-1 on the night (63) and then Filip Kostic added a late brace to wrap things up.
It was slightly less dramatic in the other game, with Luciano Slagveer's goal in the 47th minute getting them over the line.
