Heitinga: No Fulham regrets
Fulham defender John Heitinga insists he has no regrets over his January switch from Everton.
The 30-year-old had spent five years at Goodison Park after joining from Atletico Madrid, but he moved to the London club on deadline day after being signed by Rene Meulensteen.
However, Meulensteen soon departed the club and was replaced by German boss Felix Magath within a matter of weeks of Heitinga's arrival.
The Dutchman reportedly turned down the chance to join West Ham United during the winter window and he says he still believes he made the right decision to move to the Cottagers.
"I had a few other options but Fulham was a good decision and still is a good decision," he said in the Chronicle.
"Felix has done really well in the past with his former teams. He is a tough manager, he makes you work really hard and that is what we need at the moment.
"The main thing for me is to get [playing] time, keep Fulham in the Premier League and make the World Cup.
"I knew before I signed here that this was going to be a tough period. We know that we are in a situation where we need to win and stick together."
