Hill set to leave Sheff Utd

Sheffield United defender Matt Hill has revealed that he will be leaving the League One club when his contract expires this summer.

The 33-year-old, who penned a two-year deal from Blackpool in 2012 after a successful loan spell, was a regular fixture in defence as Nigel Clough's side finished in seventh place.

However, Hill will not be offered a contract as Clough prepares his squad for next season.

The former Bristol City, Preston and Barnsley full-back made 95 appearances in total for the Blades and he took to Twitter to say his goodbyes to those associated with the club.

He Tweeted: "I am sad to say I am leaving Sheffield United. I have had a fantastic time with the lads, staff and fans."
