Austria's Marcel Hirscher claimed the Slalom World Cup title in Kranjska Gora as his only rival, Germany's Felix Neureuther, skied out.
Hirscher finished second to Ivica Kostelic of Croatia, who took victory in a combined time of one minute 45.81 seconds.
Another Austrian, Mario Matt, was third.
Neureuther's hopes of overhauling Hirscher at the top of the discipline standings disappeared when he straddled a gate early on.
Hirscher also increased his lead at the top of the overall standings to 149 points from Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal ahead of the finals in Lenzerheide next week.
