
Defending World Cup champion Marcel Hirscher was fastest in both runs as he enjoyed a big victory in a night slalom at Madonna di Campiglio.
Victory moves Austria's Hirscher above Ted Ligety in the overall standings.
Hirscher clocked a combined time of one minute 42.50 seconds. Felix Neureuther of Germany was second, 1.67secs adrift, with Naoki Yuasa of Japan third.
There was a delay of about 15 minutes after the first eight starters when a gate keeper, halfway down the course, fell ill.
While medical workers tried to resuscitate him for about an hour before he was declared dead of a cardiac arrest.
