Thomas Hitzlsperger continued his comeback with a full 90 minutes in Everton's under-21 team on Monday night.
Three overage players are allowed in the side and the former German international was one of them as the Toffees won 2-0 at Norwich.
Hitzlsperger, who has played for both Aston Villa and West Ham, during previous spells in the Premier League, is on trial at Goodison Park as he returns towards full fitness from a string of knee problems.
Currently a free agent, Hitzlsperger completed the full game in central midfield.
Everton, who also fielded Sylvain Distin, won the game thanks to goals from Apostolos Vellios and Conor Grant.
