Howedes eyes foreign move
Germany international Benedikt Howedes has admitted that he can envisage leaving Schalke in the future in order to move abroad.
The 25-year-old centre back came through Schalke's academy and has made over 200 appearances for the Bundesliga club.
However, Howedes has stated that he does not see himself remaining at the Veltins Arena for his entire career, and mentioned a move abroad as his preference.
The defender did insist that he was not seeking a move away in the short term, and is currently contracted with Schalke until 2017.
"I am definitely able to imagine playing for a foreign club at one point in time," Howedes told German radio station Eins Live.
"I would learn a new language, get acquainted with a new culture. This is something that might happen.
"Still, I am a Schalke player and am not out for a shock move. I will absolutely fulfil my commitment to Schalke 04."
Howedes has 14 appearances for the German national team and was selected in their squad for Euro 2012. He scored his only international goal during a friendly against Argentina in August 2012.
