Neil Danns is set to make his Huddersfield debut in Saturday's Championship clash with his former club Birmingham at the John Smith's Stadium.
Danns joined Huddersfield on loan from Leicester until the end of the season earlier this week and is expected to feature.
Adam Hammill, on loan from Wolves, will also return to contention after being ineligible for last week's FA Cup win at Charlton.
But Simon Grayson has doubts about the fitness of defenders Joel Lynch (hamstring) and Calum Woods (groin), who has missed the last three matches, winger Danny Ward (knee), sidelined for the last four, plus strikers Jimmy Spencer (hamstring) and Alan Lee (back).
Anton Robinson is pushing for only his second start of the season, while fellow midfielder Oscar Gobern is continuing his recovery from ankle surgery as Huddersfield chase their first league win in 11 matches.
Birmingham could welcome back a number of players for the trip to Lee Clark's old club.
The Blues boss definitely has Nikola Zigic and Rob Hall available after the duo missed the FA Cup third round draw with Leeds at the weekend. The Serbian striker was suspended while the on-loan winger was refused permission to play in the competition by parent-club West Ham.
They could be joined in the squad by defender Paul Caddis (hamstring), strikers Peter Lovenkrands (calf) and Marlon King (knee) and the versatile Jonathan Spector (ankle), who have all returned to training.
But Clark remains without defenders Will Packwood (broken leg), Stephen Carr and David Murphy (both knee), midfielders Papa Bouba Diop (hamstring), Hayden Mullins (calf), Darren Ambrose (knee) and Keith Fahey (compassionate leave) as well as striker Akwasi Asante (hamstring).
