Hughton to hand out chances

Norwich manager Chris Hughton is ready to turn to his fringe players in Saturday's FA Cup third round with Fulham.

The Canaries welcome their Premier League rivals to Carrow Road without the likes of influential defender Michael Turner, who is unlikely to feature having limped off in the 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on New Year's Day.

Hard-working Dutch midfielder Leroy Fer - sent off for two bookable offences at Selhurst Park - is also unavailable due to suspension and Hughton has confirmed he will use the game to give squad players an opportunity to shine.

"We'll certainly use the squad but that's more out of necessity because of players we have out," said the Norwich boss.

"Some that have knocks will miss out and there's obviously also Leroy (Fer) who'll be out and Michael (Turner), who came off during the game yesterday.

"It's an opportunity to use the squad as well but with the main objective of making sure we go through."

One man guaranteed a start is record signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel, with Hughton adding of the Dutchman: "Ricky will certainly play. He has come on in the last few games and he would have done so at Crystal Palace, but Leroy (Fer) got sent off at that moment late in the game.

"He has had an introduction, if not starting, since the injury so the call to start him on Saturday is the ideal one."
