Hugill off and running

Jordan Hugill scored his first goal for Preston as they claimed a 2-0 win against Bamber Bridge.

The new arrival from Port Vale put his side ahead early on before Josh Brownhill completed the victory from the penalty spot as the Lilywhites continued their promising pre-season form.

Hugill netted after just 12 minutes as he headed in a perfectly delivered John Welsh free-kick. North End could have been further ahead but for the goalkeeping of Lee Dovey and the woodwork, which kept out Chris Humphrey after a lively run.

The lead was finally doubled 15 minutes from time when Nick Anderton was brought down inside the area, giving Brownhill the chance to smash the ball home and secure the win for Simon Grayson's side.
