Hunt could stay with Werder

Aaron Hunt has hinted that he may stay with Werder Bremen despite announcing earlier in the year that he would not be extending his contract.

Hunt was bid farewell by the club's fans prior to their final Bundesliga game of the season and his contract expires at the end of June.

But the midfielder has yet to find a new club and has now opened the door to reopening negotiations with Werder.

"If (director of sport) Thomas Eichin wants to talk with me, then I will talk to him," he told the Bild newspaper. "Nothing is ruled out."

Hunt, 27, has been linked with a move to Lazio, where he would be able to join compatriot Miroslav Klose, although he says he has not yet spoken to the former Bayern Munich forward about the Rome club or Serie A.

"I wouldn't say anything is not interesting to me," Hunt said. "But I haven't called Miro yet."

The former Germany international, who has been capped three times by his country, has spent his entire career with the northern Germany club, making 285 appearances and scoring 51 goals.
