Hydrogen nearing debut run
Peter Chapple-Hyam has indicated that Hydrogen, the most expensive yearling sold anywhere in the world in 2012, is approaching his debut.
A half-brother to the trainer's 2007 Derby winner Authorized, Hydrogen cost 2,500,000 guineas at Tattersalls October Sales but met with a setback earlier this year.
After picking up a slight hind leg injury in April he was sent to a pre-training yard but has been back with Chapple-Hyam for some time and was left in the Dewhurst at the latest acceptance stage.
While the Newmarket handler feels the Group One is unlikely, he could be found a maiden early next month.
"I don't think he'll be running in that (the Dewhurst), but hopefully he'll be running around that time," said Chapple-Hyam.
"He's as good as gold."
