Impressive Bunting eases through
Top seed Stephen Bunting put in a display to worry his rivals in the second round of the BDO world darts championship on Wednesday.
Bunting averaged 100.65 in beating David Prins 4-0 at Lakeside - the first three-figure average recorded at the tournament since 2008.
"I know how good my form's been,'' Bunting BBC Sport. "I wanted to get that 100 average and make myself the player to beat.
"There are a lot of good players still left in the tournament that are capable of hitting that sort of average and beating me. I've got to keep myself mentally right and hopefully I can go all the way.''
Bunting was on stage in the afternoon, sandwiched in between Robbie Green's 4-1 win over Gary Robson and Tony Eccles' come-from-behind 4-3 success against Wes Harms.
In the evening session Martin Atkins retired injured allowing Rick Hofstra through, while thetre were wins for the second-seeded James Wilson (4-2 against Scott Mitchell) and Alan Norris (4-1 against Glen Durant).
