In-form Durant sinks Spurs

Kevin Durant continued his blistering form as the Oklahoma City Thunder brought an end to the San Antonio Spurs' 19-match winning streak.

Durant led all scorers with 28 points, and in the process extended the run of successive matches where he has scored 25 or more points to 39, as the Thunder earned a 106-94 win at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Durant is now one game away from equalling Michael Jordan's run of scoring at least 25 points in 40 successive matches, which he accomplished twice and is the best record of the last 50 years.

In the day's other NBA clash, the Los Angeles Clippers suffered their first loss at Staples Center since mid-February as they crashed to a 113-107 defeat to the Dallas Mavericks.

In-form Germany forward Dirk Nowitzki contributed his third double-double in the last five games for the Mavs, scoring 26 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, while for defeated LA, Blake Griffin finished with a triple-double of 25 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds.
