Incremental contract for Compton
Batsman Nick Compton has been awarded an England incremental contract for 2012/13, the England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed.
The Somerset man made his England Test debut on the current tour of India and has appeared in all four Tests, making 57 in the third match at Eden Gardens.
ECB national selector Geoff Miller said: "This award reflects the contribution Nick has made to the England team during the early part of the winter programme and I would like to congratulate him on his achievements since making his international debut last month."
Compton automatically qualified for an increment contract when he played in the fourth Test. Under a points system, non-contracted players can earn an increment deal by obtaining 20 points, with five awarded for each Test appearance.
