Injured Moore may scout for Dons
Assistant boss Neil Cox has revealed that Wimbledon intend to use Sammy Moore as a scout to keep him busy during his injury lay-off.
The 25-year-old midfielder will miss at least three months with a fractured shin sustained against Fleetwood earlier in the month and Cox wants to give him something useful to do during his absence.
"We have made sure that we have kept in touch with him as he will be out for a while," he told the club's official website.
"We have given him a couple of weeks off to get his head right, but he has a plan of action and we will start working hard with him when he comes back. We will also get him to go off to a few games for us if he wants to while he is out."
The Dons travel to York in the FA Cup on Saturday, with Cox pleased at the players' response following the defeat against Gillingham last time out.
He added: "It was good to see the lads so disappointed that we did not take anything out of Saturday's game against the league leaders.
"We thought we should have got something out of it, but we are working hard on the training pitch this week to put in a good performance for York City."
