Officials at Newcastle have called an 8am inspection on Tuesday morning ahead of their afternoon meeting.
Clerk of the course James Armstrong reports the track to be raceable at present but is concerned by the forecast overnight rain.
He said: "It's a forecast-based inspection, it's almost precautionary really.
"We are raceable at the moment, albeit on heavy ground, but we are forecast eight to 10 millimetres of rain tonight through to tomorrow and then another 5mm in the morning.
"It all hinges on how much rain we get and it's hard to say how much more the ground will take."
