Interest mounts in Murphy
Sky Sports understands a host of clubs are chasing Accrington Stanley defender Peter Murphy.
Murphy is set to leave the Crown Ground on a free transfer after turning down the offer of a new deal.
The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the best defenders in the lower leagues after catching the eye for Accrington over the last couple of seasons.
Accrington were keen to keep hold of Murphy, who has shown an eye for goal, scoring nine goals in 47 appearances this season, but the stopper is ready to move on and he is sure to have no shortage of suitors.
The news of Murphy's availability on a free transfer has alerted several sides, with the likes of MK Dons, Oldham, Preston, Sheffield United and Tranmere all admirers of the player.
