Irvine: No arrivals imminent

Alan Irvine says he has no deals in the pipeline that he expects to be completed before West Bromwich Albion's next outing.

The club are still working hard on the identification and capture of new additions, but no agreements are imminent.

That means Irvine will likely have the same players at his disposal for Saturday's trip to Southampton as he had for an opening day 2-2 draw with Sunderland.

Irvine has no issue with that, with fresh faces expected before the summer window closes.

A domestic loan is still available to West Brom, but Irvine is looking to tie up a permanent transfer or a short-term deal for an overseas star before the deadline passes on September 1.

He said in the Birmingham Mail: \"We have the option of a domestic loan but we're not really looking at that at this moment - more so permanent or loan from outside, but it just depends on the deals we can do.

\"I don't think anything will happen in the next couple of days, but there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes.

\"We are making enquiries and we're hoping something drops sooner rather than later. The chairman is certainly keen to do something before the deadline day.\"
