Jack facing two-month lay-off

Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack is facing up to two months on the sidelines after injuring his hip against Motherwell last Saturday.

The Scotland U21 player was carried from the Fir Park field following a challenge by Motherwell defender Shaun Hutchinson.

Hutchinson was booked for the tackle but Dons boss Derek McInnes claimed he should have been given a straight red, insisting it was 'an awful challenge'.

X-rays on Sunday showed no fracture but did reveal the muscle in his hip had come away from the bone, an injury which will take some weeks to heal.

The news comes as a huge blow for Aberdeen, who are likely to be without fellow-midfielder Barry Robson for some weeks after he suffered a suspected broken rib in the fiery 2-2 draw.
