Jackson: We must keep fighting

Mike Jackson has urged Shrewsbury to stick together after a 1-0 loss Colchester stretched their winless run to five games.

The Shrews should have opened the scoring in the seventh minute when Tom Eaves sent a free header over the bar.

Colchester hit the woodwork twice before finally breaking the deadlock after 57 minutes courtesy of Jabo Ibehre's low left-footed shot.

The result stretched Shrewsbury's winless run to five games, meaning they remain four points from safety with only nine games of their season remaining.

"It was a snap-shot of our season," said Jackson. "We are where we are and we have to get on with it - it's no good crying or moaning about it.

"I've said to the lads if we're going to do this, we have to stick together. It's no good lads splintering off - we have to keep going."
