James inspires Miami again

Miami star LeBron James produced another stunning performance to lead his side to a 102-96 win over the Brooklyn Nets in the NBA play-offs.

James poured in 49 points - 34 more than his next-best team-mate - while he also claimed six rebounds as the defending champions took a 3-1 lead over the Nets in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference semi-finals.

In the Western Conference, the Portland Trail Blazers avoided elimination as they beat last season's runners-up the San Antonio Spurs 103-92 in game four.

A Spurs victory would have sent them through to the conference final, but a game-high 25 points from Damian Lillard and a good all-round showing from Nicolas Batum, who contributed 14 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists, helped the Portland cut San Antonio's lead to 3-1.
