Johnson focused on Prem games

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson knows he and his team-mates must treat every Premier League game as usual ahead of the FA Cup final.

The Reds have the chance to complete a domestic cup double, which would be their second and only the fourth in history, on May 5 having already picked up the Carling Cup.

However, with the club lying eighth in the Premier League, Johnson accepts they have to get that form back on track before they think about more silverware.

"We'll take each game as it comes. The preparations will be the same as usual," Johnson said.

"We've got a game on Sunday against West Brom so we've got to enjoy the win and then we'll look forward to that game before the final.

"We need to take every game as it comes and we've got a few more games before then.

"But it (the final) is going to be there in the back of people's minds. Hopefully we can pick up another trophy.

"The lads got a buzz for winning stuff a few months back in the Carling Cup and luckily we're in another final."

Andy Carroll scored the winner against Everton late on in the semi-final in what many believe could prove to be a turning point for the £35million striker, especially as he had missed a straightforward header to equalise just after half-time.

Carroll's finishing has not been up to scratch since his move from Newcastle in January 2011 with just 10 goals in 51 appearances but Johnson, like many of his team-mates at the weekend, gave the striker his full backing.

"I would rather him miss those chances and score the winner every week," he told FATV.

Jordan Henderson, who has also struggled to settle in since his £16million summer move from Sunderland, added his support after Carroll's second late winner in five days, having scored at Blackburn last Tuesday.

"I'm over the moon for Andy," he told the Reds' official website.

"He works hard every day in training and I think he works really hard for the team.

"As you saw against Everton and last week, he scored two winning goals in two massive games.

"So you can see that the quality is there and he's got belief in his own ability. It's brilliant to see."
