Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones said his side's 2-1 win at Brentford was just reward for the positive way they approached the game.
The Owls' smash and grab win lifted them into the second automatic promotion spot and piled the pressure on Steel City rivals Sheffield United.
Despite being under the cosh for much of a thrilling clash goals from Keith Treacy and Miguel Llera sandwiched Clayton Donaldson's penalty for the Bees and Jones insisted the result was deserved: "We had four strikers on the bench which showed our intent.
"We set up slightly differently from usual, which made the game a little more open, but in the end we got the result we needed."
Jones added: "We have one game to go now and if we continue to apply ourselves like we did here, it will be interesting."
In their last game of the season next week Wednesday take on Wycombe, whose relegation was confirmed after their 4-3 home defeat to Notts County.
