Pakistan seamer Junaid Khan will not be returning to Lancashire this season.
Junaid enjoyed a successful stint at the county in last year's Friends Life t20 competition and was due to return for this season's edition, staying on for the second part of the LV= County Championship season.
But he has been called up for his country's Test series against Sri Lanka and will not now be available for the Red Rose.
The club confirmed: "We can announce that due to his commitments with the Pakistan Test squad, Junaid Khan won't be playing for Lancashire Lightning this season."
Lancashire's interest in Junaid was partly down to their limited seam-bowling resources, but the recent capture of Yorkshire's Ajmal Shahzad has eased the burden somewhat.
