Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed Shinji Kagawa is facing three to four weeks on the sidelines because of a knee injury.
Ferguson confirmed the news at his press conference on Friday morning.
"Kagawa is out for three to four weeks with a knee injury. Playing on Tuesday (against Braga in the Champions League) didn't help. It is disappointing," the Scot said of the Japanese midfielder.
On a positive note, Ferguson reported that defender Chris Smalling was back in training following a broken metatarsal.
"That is a big bonus for us," Ferguson added.
"Phil Jones should start (training) a week on Monday as well."
Jones suffered a knee injury in training last month.
