Kallstrom injury hits Arsenal

Arsenal new boy Kim Kallstrom has suffered an injury during his very first training session for the club.

The experienced Sweden midfielder, 31, arrived at the Emirates Stadium from Spartak Moscow on loan for the remainder of the season and had been hoping to be pitched into action sooner rather than later.

But Kallstrom sustained an injury on his first day at Arsenal's Colney training ground and initial reports suggested he could be sidelined for up to three months.

However, the Gunners were quick to play down the severity of the problem - telling Sky Sports News that a 'slight' injury will rule him out of tomorrow's clash with Crystal Palace.

The Arsenal medical staff will carry out further tests over the weekend before making a more complete diagnosis.
