Kennaugh holds overall lead
Pete Kennaugh holds the overall lead in the Settimana Coppi e Bartali in Italy after winning stage two on Friday.
The Manxman, a team pursuit gold medallist at the London 2012 Olympics, moved into a 42-second lead with his first professional victory in the race which concludes on Sunday.
It was Team Sky's third stage success in a row in Italy after taking both the opening sprint through Ben Swift and the afternoon team-time trial on Thursday.
"It's was just nice to finish it off," Kennaugh told TeamSky.com.
"When everyone rides the way they do and it's down to you to go for it at the end to get the win, it's not so much a relief, but more a nice feeling to get my first win.
"It was a nice stage as well and it was good to finish it off for the boys.
"There's still a long way to go and I'll give it everything."
Meanwhile, Kennaugh's Team Sky colleague Geraint Thomas was third in E3 Prijs Vlaanderen as Peter Sagan (Cannondale) won the Belgian one-day race.
