Kennedy grateful for bobble
Barnsley defender Tom Kennedy admitted his crucial goal in Tuesday's win 2-1 at relegation rivals Charlton had more than a touch of fortune about it.
Kennedy's cross from the left looped over home goalkeeper Ben Hamer and straight into the net to give the Reds a 2-0 lead in the second half.
Victory lifted Barnsley off the foot of the table and to within two points of the south Londoners, who are one place above the drop zone.
Kennedy said: "Obviously the win was the most important thing but to score a goal in a massive, massive game was extra special.
"It was a cross but it had some movement on it. It's hit a bobble and I've gone to put my hands on my head thinking that's not very good and it's ended up in the top stanchion, so I'll take that any day of the week."
