Kilboy option for Gabriel
Avenue Gabriel is likely to drop down from Group One level on her next appearance with the Kilboy Estate Stakes at the Curragh identified as a potential target.
A smart juvenile last year, Paul Deegan's charge was a highly encouraging third on her seasonal reappearance at Leopardstown before finishing fourth in the Irish 1,000 Guineas.
She was unable to land a blow in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh, but Deegan expects his charge to bounce back when she encounters a softer surface.
He said: "The ground was much too quick for her the other day and she was never able to get into contention.
"I think we'll just put a line through that run and move on as we know she's better than she showed on the day.
"We know she's a smart filly, as she showed in the Irish Guineas, and we'll aim towards Irish Oaks weekend.
"She could run in the Oaks, but I think the Kilboy (July 20) is probably more likely."
