Kim edges ahead of Lindberg
South Korean IK Kim fired five straight birdies in a clean seven-under round to claim a one-shot lead after round one of the Helsingborg Open.
Kim went 2-3-4-3-3 from the fourth to the eighth hole as she sprinted up the leaderboard and made further gains at the 12th and 17th holes to complete a polished 65, putting her in first place after day one.
The world number 10's early liking of the Vasatorp Golf Club course was shared by Pernilla Lindberg, who also managed to keep dropped shots off her card.
Her fellow Swedes Maria Hjorth and Camilla Lennarth had a double bogey each in their four-under rounds of 68, sharing third place with seven others.
While Kim, 25, leads the way, Lindberg savoured the day as much as anyone, the 27-year-old saying: "For me it's great coming home and it's the first time ever I get to play a tournament as a professional in Sweden.
"2008 was the last time we had an LET event and I played as an amateur back then but since then I haven't had the chance to come home and play so it feels really good."
England's Liz Young was the leading British player among the group on four under, and she matched the leading pair by avoiding any dropped shots.
