Kirby sits out Thursday action

Adam Kirby will not partner Ocean Tempest in Germany on Thursday after he sprained an ankle riding out at Clive Cox's yard on Wednesday.

The jockey was due to partner John Ryan's Lincoln and dual Listed winner in the Group Three Badener Meile at Baden-Baden having ridden the five-year-old on each of his four starts this term.

However, Kirby has been ruled out, with local rider Eddie Pedroza taking over aboard Ocean Tempest.

The jockey's agent, Nicky Adams, said: "It's only soft-tissue damage and he's hoping to be back on Friday."
