Kirby takes Lingfield trio

Adam Kirby took the riding honours with a 44/1 treble at Lingfield's meeting on New Year's Eve.

The first leg was posted in the 32Red Casino Nursery by 4/1 chance Ashamaly.

James Tate's son of Sharmardal was making his first run in handicap company and having been committed for home from some way out, he kept on impressively to land the spoils.

Commanche (4/5f) managed to follow up a recent victory at Kempton in the first division of the six furlong handicap on the card.

Pat Chamings' gelding didn't win quite as easily as his odds suggested as previous C&D winner, Catalinas Diamond made him pull out all the stops.

Novabridge (4/1jf) secured the treble in the 32RedBet.com Handicap over five furlongs.

Plenty of horses attracted support but Neil Mulholland's four-year-old ran out a convincing winner over the pursuing pair of Charming and Baby Dottie.

Elsewhere on the card, the feature seven furlong handicap was taken by Cut Across (5/2) for the partnership of Nick Littmoden and Seb Sanders.

Given the inclement conditions, Storm Runner (4/5f) was an aptly named winner of the last British Flat race of 2012 for Ryan Powell and George Margarson.
