Kitty considered for Nunthorpe

Ceiling Kitty could bid for Group One honours in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes following her Royal Ascot victory.

Tom Dascombe's filly created a 20-1 surprise in the Queen Mary Stakes on Wednesday, stepping up on a York Listed victory to claim the Group Two prize.

Owner Andrew Black is now eyeing a step up to full company for his home-bred daughter of Red Clubs, with the York feature on August 24 a possible target.

Kingsgate Native landed the Nunthorpe in 2007, becoming the first juvenile since Lyric Fantasy in 1992 to win the prize, and Black would like his filly to feature on the roll of honour.

He tweeted: "Ceiling Kitty a hardy type, all speed, needs a fast pace.

"Giving weight all round over six furlongs doesn't appeal. Nunthorpe sounds like more fun."
