Klopp proud of Euro progress

Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp described it as an "extraordinary moment" for his side to make the Champions League quarter-finals.

The reigning German champions ensured that their European adventure will continue on Tuesday as they claimed a 3-0 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk in the second leg of their last-16 encounter to wrap up a comprehensive 5-2 aggregate success.

Dortmund are now safely through to the quarter-finals and building momentum at each stage of the competition.

They have already topped a group which included Real Madrid, Manchester City and Ajax, and Klopp admits his side are experiencing a dream campaign in Europe.

He said: "This game ranks very high for us personally and it is an extraordinary moment.

"The entire Champions League season has been running very smoothly for us. Shakhtar showed their quality in the second half but we delivered a fantastic performance for 80 minutes in this game.

"There are plenty of teams that have been eliminated despite having performed brilliantly before and I cannot find any team that would be a dream draw for us. We are simply extremely happy about this victory and I am very proud of my team.

"There are still lots of strong teams in the competition. We are just delighted with the result and I am proud of the team."
